Being one of the five national projects by the government in their efforts to boost the local economy and accommodating the paradigm shift from agriculture to industrialization, the Jin Ji Lake stands in pride as the symbol of modernization in the Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP).
As part of the development of Suzhou, the area which used to be home to farmers and fishermen is now transformed into one of the leading spots in technology to attract investors from all around the world in their urbanized industrial park, besides the enthusiastic visitors who enjoy the view of the lake and a stroll along the waterfront area.
The waterfront area is a 520 hectares land surrounding the lake; and is designed to meet international standards. The overall project was engineered with the joint collaboration of China and Singapore and focused on an environmental concept in its making.
The waterfront serves as a promenade for the Cityside Harbor Plaza and the many pubs and restaurants lining the deck, offering a panoramic view of the lake.
The whole area was designed with canals flowing into the lake, and a wide area of walkway at the waterfront.
Rainbow Walk allows one to take in the glimpse of the Jin Ji Lake, and at the same time enjoy the light breeze from the lake.
Harmony, an iconic art sculpture in the Suzhou Industrial Park also stands here.
It is interesting to see nature nestling amongst the hectic development and urbanization in Suzhou.
Jin Ji Lake is definitely a lovely place for families and anyone to take a stroll and enjoy lakeside activities.
