Breakfast at the Premium Lounge

I was really excited for the honeymoon trip; and needless to say, I spent months packing and doing my research although I was also hoping that there things will go well and that I can go for the trip.

When the day came, we woke up to depart to the airport early to beat the work traffic.
After checking in, as usual, we will head to relax and have a quick bite at the Premium Lounge in the airport.
This time, it is the most important meal of the day; breakfast.






Relaxing and stretching ourselves in the comfortable environment of the lounge was the right thing to do, as we prepare ourselves for the long; extremely long flight to follow, to our destination! :)

What to eat for breakfast in HK: A bowl of hot noodles

Food is found almost everywhere in Hong Kong; on the streets, markets, MTR stations, malls, etc.
With the abundance of choices available, it is definitely not difficult to find something to fill one's stomach in this city.

If you want to eat breakfast like a local, then you should take a walk down the streets and the market to locate the busy eateries and shops.
Most of the books would tell you to try dim sum; which is quite popular among the Chinese community and is one of the weekend activity for the families.

I would recommend trying some of the noodles shop as well; wanton mee, or the fish noodles which we found near our hotel in North Point.



The shop specializes in fishballs, fish paste, and all fish-based stuffs with your choice of noodles; mee hoon, yellow noodles, hor fun/koay teow (flat rice-based noodles).

She was actually a very friendly person, and was pretty helpful too.

She noticed us taking photos of the food, and even added more spring onions to make it look more appealing in our photos :)

Squid balls with rice vermicelli (mee hoon) - HKD$10)

The squid balls were really good; the best I have ever tasted and you have to believe me as I am a big fan of squid balls :)

Fish paste dumplings with hor fun (HKD$10)

The fish paste tasted awesome but be warned as there were tiny bones (the fish paste was made of fish; and tasted very fishy!)

It was a very good breakfast, and prices were reasonable as well.
I would recommend this shop to anyone who loved something different for breakfast.

Perth 2010: Day 5 - Scarborough Beach

Our hotel is located by one of Perth's gem of beaches; the famous Scarborough beach and we finally walked along it on our last day



The path for walking was very well established; which they named as the Scarborough Heritage Trail


There were a few look out points to enjoy the view of the sea and the peaceful beach





I think this is meant for some of the shows on the beach?


The beach is true to its reputation; beautiful

PERTH 2010: Day 4 - Sunday Mass @ St Mary's Cathedral and AQWA

Day 4 started much earlier; as I had to get up to get ready for the morning mass at St Mary's Cathedral.

I managed to catch a glimpse of the rising sun before I left the hotel


I was lucky enough to spot rainbow too!~ (It had been raining the night before)



The streets of Perth seemed deserted and lonely on an early Sunday morning; which was pretty normal for any city anyway.



Although I was in Perth; far away from home, I still did not forget my Sunday obligation =)


After mass, we continued our journey to start off the itinerary for the day


The first on the itinerary was to the AQWA (Aquarium of Western Australia)

Perth 2010 DAY 2: Morning walk and Breakfast @ Dome's

A good night's rest is essential for the next day and I was glad that I slept well.
The day breaks really early here in Perth, it seemed like 7am when it was just 6am only.

I woke up really early as usual, since there was no time difference here in Perth.
I took a few street shots the moment I woke up from the balcony of my room.





The skies soon brightened up, and after some washing up, I was ready to hit the streets for a quick walk to take in the lovely breeze and fresh air of the countryside.
(That's what people do on their vacation, don't they?)

After braving the cold for half an hour outside, I was more than glad to step back inside the warmth of the Dome's restaurant located on the first floor of the hotel for our breakfast that morning.


They also have the alfresco dining area where you can enjoy the cold breeze on the balcony foyer.


Of course I would prefer the warmth inside, it was really cold out there!



I can learn about the continents while waiting for my food =)


Apple muffin (AUD$3.50)

This was one of the best muffins I have ever tasted; it even had apple chunks in it!
I opted for a warm serving and it was just so aromatic and tempting to my appetite when it arrived that I just could not get enough of it! =)


It was really cold out there and so we ordered hot drinks
Chamomile Tea (AUD$3.80)



The aromatic scent from the tea was just calming and invigorating to the senses and it was good for people who have been really stressed.

Hot Chocolate (AUD$4.25) was another good option to bring warmth to the body against the cold or chilly weather.


Cheese and Ham croissant (AUD$7.90)


This was good but I couldn't help converting the price to MYR and it was freaking expensive when I did! =P
Almost MYR21 for a croissant!

After filling up our tummies for the morning, we hit the road again for our itinerary of the day.
