Florence: Gelato and food

The final part about Florence; the gelato we have tasted and the dinner before departing to our next destination.

Most of the gelateria were crowded with people; not a surprise, looking at the hot weather out there.

Just like most of the other gelateria, they offer a wide variety of flavors to choose from.




Nothing special about the gelato here; I still think the one in Venice is the best!


Off to dinner or the last supper in Florence (that was too artistic, and doesn't sound very nice)

Again, the same old food

Seriously, I am starting to miss the wide variety of food we have in Malaysia!



Somehow, I think my taste buds lost their abilities...I just didn't seem to enjoy the food anymore.

Florence: Michaelangelo's David

Within the vicinity of the Uffizi Gallery is the square where Michaelangelo's most famous masterpiece, David, is located.


This is the most famous piece from the artist himself, and without a doubt, it became one of the top attraction in this place


It was within walking distance and there was even a huge platform there where they placed all the statues.






You can easily spend a short 30 minutes to 1 hour taking photos with all these statues.
After all, Florence is all about art, architecture and statues!

Florence: Ponte Vecchio and Arno River

The famous and most scenic view which is often associated with Florence is of one of the oldest bridges (out of 6) here; Ponte Vecchio which overlooks Arno River.

Ponte Vecchio itself means 'old bridge' in Italian.

It is a Medieval bridge and had shops on the bridge itself.
According to wikipedia, it used to be butcher shops, well, now, it's mostly souvenir shops as I can see.
I would say the bridge provided a very good view of the river and also a good enough shelter from the hot sun.


The famous Ponte Vecchio; a spot that must not be missed for photo enthusiasts




And the Arno River



A must-take shot; even though it was SO HOT!
