Tucked away from the busy streets is the Golden Geier bistro cafe.
Geier, as we found out was actually a German word for Scavenger.
I took the train to the town; just out of fun
And I caught the Euro link express train in action
Arriving in town in the evening
I found this little restaurant which was pretty low profile to the locals
There was a nice live performance by their very own bistro singer
For starters, we were served with the smoked salmon salad
Since I opted for the vegetarian meal, I was served with this tomato basil soup
It was really much better than the soup served for the rest.
However, I couldn't say the same for my main course...which turned out to be so horrible!
It was too salty and too oily!
I took a bite and that was it!
Even my other colleagues who tasted it told me the same thing:p
Toast with a glass of red wine
A peek into the other main courses:
The pork sausages
Chicken with spaghetti
For dessert, there was a choice of Hot Apple strudel or strawberry tiramisu
Okay, I have gotta quote my Italian friend, "German food is really not for me"
It is really not my cup of tea nor my plate of food.
I really didn't quite like the food here...and my Italian friend was going on and on about how lousy German food is compared to Italian.
Talk about Germans and Italian fiends...:)
Apart from the food, everyone did enjoy the evening so much that it will always remain as one of the best memories in our minds:)
