I am not one used to public transportation but I find them a great pal to have during overseas travel. One of the most convenient way is via train; which is the main transport that can be found in most of the advanced countries now.
Marienplatz is one of the famous sightseeing and tourist stop in Munich.
In fact, Munich is marked by the historical building with an amazing architecture and an embedded clock tower within on most of her postcards and magnet themes.
The moment I exit the train platform, I am taken in by the clock tower at the entrance and of course, the magnificent and splendid view of the building.
In the middle of the square of Marienplatz, there is the famous golden Virgin Mary perched on top of the pole.
During the particular weekend I was there, there was some sort of music festival and the locals were enjoying a good drink in the open while listening to the rock singers performing on the stage in the center.
Some of the locals were even spotted in their national and traditional costumes
Horse carriages is also one of the tourist attractions here
Due to the merry atmosphere, the town was painted in red with the carnival-like environment and there were stalls lining up the entire street.
With the sales in place, the whole city was really crowded with people; locals and tourists alike
They seem to really love pretzels:)
There are even street performances
There was a local church in the city center as well ( of course, photography is prohibited inside the premises) but there were interesting stone plates carved on the external walls of the church
And also statues and fountains in the surrounding area
(To be continued...)
